Fabrics like Alcantara and Amaretta are ultra-microfibre materials (synthetic materials) which have a surface like suede. These fabrics should be vacuumed at regular intervals and occasionally wiped with a damp cloth. In case of stains and normal dirt, use COLOURLOCK Alcantara and Textile Cleaner. It is a very effective plant based cleaner for Alcantara on car and fabric furniture upholstery. Plant based cleaners are important because they leave no fat or surfactant residues after cleaning which can clog the ultra fine fibers.
Use on all fabrics, textiles, alcantara, fabric convertible roofs, mohair etc,
Directions: Wet a sponge or use COLOURLOCK Leather Cleaning brush with some of the cleaner. Press foam out of the sponge. Clean the stained area in a circular motion. Then wipe with damp cloth to remove residue.
For greasy and waxy stains use COLOURLOCK Leather Cleaning Spirit/Degreaser.
To reduce future soiling and stains, protect the surface with COLOURLOCK Waterproofing for Leather and Textiles. Heat should be kept away from Alcantara. For example, cigarette burns cause irreparable damages in Alcantara.
Alcantara is prone to pilling. Abrasion causes the fibres to develop into small spherical nodules. If the surface is not too damaged, it can be restored with the COLOURLOCK Sanding Pad.
